Gamble returns to MLS
21.54The preparations for the 2016 MLS season started last weekend with the PRO referee training camp held in Phoenix, Arizona (USA). There are four new assistant referees and two new fourth officials on the roster, but none of the new names is from Canada.
Referee Geoff Gamble returns to MLS after one year. Mathieu Bourdeau remains among the fourth officials in PRO, in spite of being a second-year FIFA referee with two World Cup qualifiers and two CONCACAF tournaments under his belt. The following Canadian match officials have been retained by PRO in 2016: referees Drew Fischer (FIFA), David Gantar (FIFA), Silviu Petrescu, Geoff Gamble, assistant referees Daniel Belleau (FIFA), Philippe Briere (FIFA), Joe Fletcher (FIFA), Richard Gamache (FIFA), Marco Arruda, Gianni Facchini, Oscar Mitchell-Carvalho and fourth official Mathieu Bourdeau (FIFA). The camp was also attended by Hector Vergara (FIFA Instructor), Amato DeLuca (CONCACAF Assessor) and Isaac Raymond (CSA Referee Manager).
